I was recently hired by The Steps and Loophole Entertainment to create the album packaging for their upcoming LP. The CD is being released in Japan by Kurofune Records and should be available in stores by the end of April. Many thanks to Whitaker Elledge at Loophole, everyone in the band, Ami Barwell and Perry Hall for their photographs, Satoshi and the rest of the team at Kurofune.
This past summer, I was commissioned to create a series of large-scale murals and environmental graphics for East End Ink, a local printing company. I was fortunate enough to have a lot of creative freedom and was able to explore whatever direction I felt was appropriate. I ended up doing about ten walls, the largest of which was 70' W x 22' H. In terms of scale, this is the biggest work I have ever produced and it's rewarding to see the final product installed at the shop.

Hello. My name is Jake Kuykendall. I run a small design studio, KKNDLL, from my home in Austin, Texas. I am currently working on design and illustration projects for a variety of clients. I have an extensive background in illustration and have created original artwork for editorial publications, clothing, ad campaigns, online marketing, posters, and promotional goods. I am in the middle of building a new portfolio web site and have decided to use this blog as a temporary home for some of my more recent work. Also, I wanted a space to post notes on my process and to network with potential clients. Please feel free to contact me with questions, or for whatever your design, illustration, type, art direction, or art needs may be. Thank you and I hope you enjoy my work.
